Cloud Services
overview
What are Cloud services?
Cloud Services are where the data/server is being hosted at a secure data center in a controlled environment. Some of the most common methods of using software are: Fat Client – a networked computer with most resources installed locally on the workstation; Thin Client – a computing device that’s connected to a network as a virtual desktop, using the computing power residing on networked servers; Browser–based (or web-based) software – runs in your web browser, and requires only an Internet connection and an installed web browser on your computer to function; SaaS, or Software as a Service – a method of software delivery and licensing in which software is accessed online via a subscription, rather than bought and installed on individual computers.
