How often is the hardware replaced?
Microwize replaces equipment every 60 months. Any item under the HaaS plan will be swapped out for a brand-new machine every 60 months at no additional cost, items like servers, workstations/desktops, laptops, and firewalls. Items NOT included: monitors, printers, switches, copy machines, etc.
Does HaaS service include on-site visits?
Yes, the diamond level plan includes on-site service; the gold plan does not include on-site service.
What happens if the hardware goes bad before the 60-month period is up?
If any piece of hardware covered by the HaaS malfunctions, it will be replaced at no charge. Fire, flood, theft, and physical damage would need to be covered under the practice’s liability insurance.
What is the term of the contract?
60 months with automatic renewal, which may be canceled within 60 days of the renewal date by written notice.
What happens to the hardware after the 60 months?
After 60 months, you own the equipment (specifically the desktops and servers). We can recycle the hardware and safely destroy any data on the old hard drive for you, if you so choose. Or you may wish to donate the computers, after Microwize destroys the Protected Health Information (PHI) data on the hard drive.
What if I need to add equipment during a contract?
No problem! We will provide a new agreement for each additional expansion which will have its own 60-month contract.
Will I need any server at all if I go cloud?
While the cloud is wonderful, for practices with five or more computers, you will need a “Micro-Server” which will act as a domain controller, file server, and print server.
What data is backed up and where is the backup stored?
Microwize backs up the file server with both on-site and cloud backups. It is not recommended that any data be stored on workstations.
Can I block certain employees from using social media or unwanted sites?
Simply put, yes. We will customize, support, and maintain the firewall we provide which will allow us to block any unwanted websites.
How quickly can I get support if I am having a problem?
97% of our support calls are answered within five minutes during business hours, Monday – Friday 9:00AM to 6:00PM Eastern time. We also have 24/7 support available for an additional fee.
What is meant by “Dark Web Watch”?
Included with Managed IT services, our channel-exclusive Dark Web monitoring platform provides the most validated credential exposure data available. This lets you focus on running your practice while having peace of mind.
